This Weekend

Well this weekend was busy for Barbara and I. First on Friday I had volunteered to help setup the hall for the annual Quilt Show put on by the quilting club The Piecemakers. I went at 10AM and I left around 1:30PM and they were still putting quits up. More on that later.

On Saturday Barbara and I went to one of our favorite places, Winterthur Museum and Country Estate (http://www.winterthur.org/). Of course we got in for free with our American Horticultural Society membership. First we took the garden tram around to the Enchanted Forest and on the way we saw all the azaleas which were in full bloom along with many other early spring flowering trees and bushes. After walking around for a little while we got on the tram and headed to the house. We had brought our lunch so we found a shady bench and enjoyed our picnic lunch we had brought. We then went in to see the display on The Lost Gardens of the Brandywine. After that I wanted to go get some pictures of The Campbell Collection of Soup Tureens which is one of the permanent collections while Barbara went to see the orientation film. We then decided to take the introductory tour of the house. We had taken this tour before but it has been awhile so we took it again. I thought they had a no photograph policy so I put my camera in one of the free lockers that they provide, last time I make that mistake. They were having an small antique car show so while Barbara sat inside I went up the hill and took some pictures. Take a good look at the Ford Model T Town Car (the car with the velvet backseat) the tires are not just white walls, the whole tire is white. I certainly would not have to clean those tires. We had a lovely day.

The quilt show was Fantastic! I am just going to let the pictures speak for themselves. I could not decide which ones to include so I included all of them.
